Invisible Towers Makes Presentation to the Loudoun County Planning Commission
Wednesday, August 19, 2009 -
On July 16, 2009, the Loudoun County Planning Commission received its first briefing on Invisible Towers Bluemont Grain Elevator Special Exception Application. The Commission received presentations by Loudoun County Planning Staff and Invisible Towers. The County Staff’s presentation included a recommendation for Commission approval of the proposed project. The proposed project is one of the most unique and complex tower projects ever proposed in Loudoun County. Invisible Towers proposes to restore the historic grain elevator and support structures and utilize them as a cell tower by extending the top of the elevator utilizing concealment panels. These panels will match the existing structure and conceal the wireless carrier antennas installed inside. To allow additional time for evaluation of the project, the Commissioners voted to place the Application on their September 10th work session agenda.
